2020 Recipient
Aaron is an extraordinary young man from a special family. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at a young age, he did not let this define him. Far from it. With the aid of his family, teachers, and therapists and, working tirelessly throughout his school years, Aaron found his voice. Aaron has been using his voice to give back to his community. He routinely returns to Ms. Mackay’s preschool classroom to lead literacy groups and read aloud to students, always with a kind word and encouragement.
Aaron’s love of music has been instrumental in his success. He has participated in several school talent shows and concerts. Even singing a solo! During high school he attended his prom and most impressively passed the MCAS, Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System, graduating right alongside his peers. Aaron brings his big heart, positive nature, and work ethic to everything he does. We are honored to present him with a Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation Scholarship and look forward to seeing where Aaron’s journey takes him.
