2014 Recipient

Naomi Cosmus of East Otis is making a difference in the world through her volunteering and fundraising efforts. Through large and small projects in her community and beyond, she is inspiring young people and proving that one person can make a difference. For the past four years Naomi has volunteered with the Appalachian Service Project. While in Appalachia she has helped roof a house, frame a bathroom and add supports to sagging floors. While improving the living conditions of some of the residents of Appalachia she has lifted their spirits and inspired them to pay it forward. Closer to home, Naoimi volunteers at her local food pantry, raises money for Operation Smile, provides a safe spot for teens via the Gay/Straight Alliance and even participated in the Superbowl of Caring, an event designed to raise money and awareness to fight world hunger. We are so proud of everything Naomi has accomplished and know she will make a positive impact as she continues her education at Westfield State University this fall.
