Alyssa Marte-Diaz

Alyssa has volunteered at the Boston Public Library as a lead mentor through out high school, helping low income children with motivation and emotional support. She is part of the homework assistance program which makes a direct impact on these children. Alyssa was a supervisor for the Volley Against Violence program, which teaches children ages 5 through 10 how to play tennis and develop life skills, such as respect and resolving conflict. Alyssa is involved in the NAACP Boston branch. She also started the Black Student Union at Boston Latin Academy to bring together students to discuss the African American community and how to make the school environment more inclusive. Alyssa will attend Northeastern University in the fall.
